At the General Assembly Meeting of ESTA (European Association of abnormal road transport and mobile cranes) held on April 15, 2016, Kässbohrer’s Board Member for Business Development İffet Türken has been elected as the Transport Vice President.
Founded in 1976, ESTA is focused on the equipment improvement to create a safer working environment, the harmonization of equipment travel rules, general conditions of work and reduction of permit delays throughout Europe. The association is promoting safer working conditions and creating the opportunity for ESTA's members to exchange information, allowing them to work together all over Europe.
Commenting on her new role Ms. Türken said, “I’m very pleased with the General Assembly’s decision on electing me as the Transport Vice President, a decision which helps increasing the visibility of women in the transportation industry. Our agenda is quite challenging. We are working to promote safety, quality and professionalism throughout the European heavy transport industry, where there are still inconsistencies within. It’s important for us to harmonize working practices and operational regulations to create an environment, allowing cross-border heavy transport projects.”
Kässbohrer is an ESTA member since 2012.
