Kässbohrer To Showcase Latest Electrified Vehicles And Host Future Outlook Panel At IAA 2024
"Adhering to the motto “Enginuity”, the perfect balance of “Engineering” and “Ingenuity”, Kässbohrer constantly develops its vehicles to take its customers’ business to the next level.
At IAA Transportation 2024, Kässbohrer showcases two latest developments on its e-vehicles:
The K.SRI E: The Most Efficient, Emission-Reducing Electric Reefer
Kässbohrer’s next generation electrified reefer is equipped with BPW and Thermo King to power refrigeration units electrically during temperature-controlled transportation. The collaboration sets a new standard for the best emission reducing and fuel savings performance.
Featuring Kässbohrer’s top class insulation with a 0.31 K value GRP panel and advanced air circulation, e-Reefer guarantees uniform cooling throughout the vehicle.
Furthermore, this technology enables fuel savings of up to 4,000 liters annually, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 10 tons—over 50% more efficient than other electrified reefers. The K.SRI E is the optimal solution for the cold chain sector's zero-emission transition.
Electrified Kässbohrer New Generation Curtainsider: Greater Range, Lower CO₂
The second e-vehicle exhibited is Kässbohrer’s newly launched at IAA 2024, the new generation curtainsider, electrified within scope of EU funded ZEFES (Zero Emissions flexible vehicle platforms with modular powertrains serving the long-haul Freight Eco System) project. In line with ZEFES’s goal on advancing zero emission vehicles (ZEV), powered by ZF and BPW, the e-Curtainsider features a recuperation axle that provides traction support for both combustion engines and electric trucks.
The new generation electrified curtainsider features ZF’s TrailTrax technology, which is being introduced as a world-first at IAA 2024. TrailTrax is an electrified trailer system that improves traction and captures energy during braking, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 16% through energy recuperation. When combined with plug-in charging, emissions can be reduced by an additional 40%. The system includes ZF’s 210 kW AxTrax 2 e-axle, a trailer EBS, and a battery pack, all integrated into Kässbohrer’s New Generation Curtainsider.
Kässbohrer K-Expert Talks: Driving Sustainability Through Transformative Collaboration
Kässbohrer embraces the industry’s sustainability challenges with cutting-edge R&D capabilities and strong partnerships. Recognizing that achieving sustainability goals requires transformative collaboration within a large ecosystem, Kässbohrer will host industry experts on its K-Talks Series, for open discussions on climate targets and European Commission-backed projects.
On 18th September 2024, from 11:15 to 12:30 at Hall 27 E11, Kässbohrer will host the K-Expert Talk: Outlook Electrification and Intermodal Panel. With distinguished experts from ZEFES, ZF, BPW, TAPA, CFL Multimodal and Ewals Cargo Care will share insights on the future of electrification and intermodal transportation.
İffet Turken, Executive Board Member of Kässbohrer states at the K-Expert Talk Panel:
