Upgraded Digital Options Of Kässbohrer
Kässbohrer Exhibits Digital Product Enhancements And Services At 67th IAA
Europe’s fastest growing semi-trailer manufacturer Kässbohrer will be exhibiting innovative, digital and cutting-edge technology examples from its wide product range and its broad semi-trailer services during the 67th IAA Commercial Vehicles Exhibition at three different fairgrounds from 20th to 27th of September in Hanover, Germany.
Developing new technologies and addressing the changing industry dynamics, Kässbohrer is highlighting its innovation which has been synonymous with Kässbohrer for 125 years since its foundation in 1893.
Adhering to Enginuity, Kässbohrer always offers the most efficient and effective product and services to its customers. Newly established Kässbohrer Digital Options encompasses all digital enhancements integrated into our products like Digital Trailer Control (DTC) as well as all the digital services like Kässbohrer Telematics.
Kässbohrer has developed and first launched Digital Trailer Control (DTC) in 65th IAA in 2014 that enables the remote control of the trailers through smart devices by digitalization of mechanical operations. With this technology, the mechanical control of different products ranging from curtainsider to silo vehicles is possible resulting in operational efficiency, security and enhanced safety for people and the environment. Since 2014, DTC has been offered as a Digital Option for select products and this year Kässbohrer will exhibit its trailers which feature upgraded Digital Options running on DTC.
During the 67th IAA, Kässbohrer will exhibit 2 Kässbohrer Digital Option products, Trailer Innovation 2019 Award “Concept” category nominee Smart Non –Tipping Silo K.SSL with autonomous discharge and Trailer Innovation 2019 Award “Safety” category nominee Safety Tipping Silo K.SSK that are running on DTC.
Nominee of "Concept" category, Kässbohrer Smart Non –Tipping Silo K.SSL with autonomous discharge running on DTC’s innovative feature is the full automatization of the discharge process that enables a safer and more efficient discharge. The fine example of digitalization of trailers, Smart Non- Tipping Silo eliminates the classical discharge methods by patent-pending digital control system compliant with ISO 26262 functional safety standardizations including the software and the hardware.
The system of Smart Non –Tipping Silo K.SSL is controlled by smart devices via easy to use interface running on Kässbohrer Digital Trailer Control, resulting in safer, more efficient time- saving cost reduced operations. Building towards full predictive maintenance, integrated diagnostics systems can easily detect failures that can occur anywhere on the tank body or running parts of the trailer and it makes early intervention and response to these failures possible. Thanks to that process, safer driving experiences, shorter interference times and longer trailer life will be achieved.
Nominee of “Safety” category Kässbohrer Safety Tipping Silo K.SSK running on DTC is the upgraded version of Trailer Innovation 2017 Award “Safety” Category winner Kässbohrer Bitumen Tanker, developed jointly with DTC and Hoyer Bitumen-Logistik GmbH, a German company specialized in bitumen transportation that is the result of applying the latest technology to the know-how of product development for 55 countries.
K.SSK’s innovative character is automating the discharge process with safety parameter controls, improving the safety of the discharge operation of the silo in general. The system assesses the discharge site and conditions for the safest discharge conditions and directs the discharge operations accordingly ensuring the safety of the driver, site personnel, and equipment by reducing the operational risks. The Safety Tipping Silo addresses and controls all conditions that might cause fatal accidents and cases of oversight by drivers hence providing the safest discharge operation in the market.
Next to DTC, Kässbohrer Digital Options includes Kässbohrer Telematics that is offered to add value to the customers since 2013. This year Kässbohrer partnered with Wabco to provide K Telematics to its customers. K Telematics’ features basic track and trace as well as diagnose of vehicle’s various operational data. The customers can monitor brake wear, mileage, tire pressure, axle load and the trailer’s electronic braking system (EBS), among other functions. K Telematics running on Wabco Transics allows the customers to monitor temperature changes in the trailer as well as door lock controls and offers ease of use from any location via a web portal, a mobile application or via an integration with an existing fleet management system. With K Telematics’ built-in route guidance functions, alerts and alarms for better connection between the manager and the driver as well as advanced reporting tools enable logistics companies with varying fleet sizes to more efficiently manage their vehicles and the fleets, improve maintenance costs and achieve operational efficiency all in the comfort of using their smartphones or computer.
